Few Tips

Speaking
1. Read aloud, speak little loudly than you usually talk. By this, I don’t mean to shout at the top of your lungs, but be louder as it will bring more confidence. The speaking should be spontaneous, without any hesitation at all. I used to get very low Speaking scores as I talked very quietly thinking I might disturb others.
2. Speak a bit faster. I usually speak slowly emphasizing each word but after hearing my Read aloud recording, it seemed at snail's space. So speaking faster than normal talk stressing each word clearly is significant as it affects our fluency.
3. For repeat sentence, even if you don’t understand the full sentence, repeat back the line in the same tone completing the sentence with any additional words you may seem worthy. For eg, one repeat sentence was very fast and I didn’t understand half of the sentence. But I repeated the sentence confidently without any hesitation filling words which I seem correct.
4. Describe image, study a template and practice with the same. Mine template mentions the heading and x-axis as an introduction and then 2 important keywords and a concluding line. This template is almost the same for all the graphs and diagrams with very few changes. Practicing with any template saves a lot of time thinking about what to fill as the sentence.
5. Retell lecture, study a template and practice with the same. Also, write down phrases from the audio rather than taking down words. So you can make a sentence with the help of your template and these phrases, which help you to speak fluently.
6. Short Answer questions, no tips only practice.

Writing
1. Summarize written text, be familiar with complex sentences and study a few sentence format with these. As we can write only a single sentence, aim to write only a complex sentence of around 30 words grammatically correct. It is very difficult to write a single sentence more than 35 words and chances for it to be grammatically incorrect is huge.
2. Essay, study a template which has 4 paras- Introduction, 2 Body and 1 conclusion. Practice writing essays with frequent topics as the essay topics are frequent in PTE. Also, I recommend to copy your essay in Grammarly.com, to check for spelling mistakes and article misuse. If you can purchase the premium package of Grammarly, they will also show the repeated words and the synonyms to be used instead which is highly recommendable. For eg, if the essay is regarding students, we should avoid writing students in each and every line and rather try to use synonyms like children, the young generation, adolescent etc. So practicing this in Grammarly is very effective.
3. I studied a lot of fancy and new words but there was no way to include those in my essay topic. So it is more beneficial to study synonyms of common essay topics.
4. Make sure your essay is a balanced mixture of simple, compound, complex sentence structures and also of examples to support your findings.
5. The most important point is not to use the Backspace key in the keyboard at all. I scored only 40 in spelling in my previous PTE test and I was pretty sure that all my spellings and syntax are accurate. The only change I made in my recent exam is to use the Cut and Copy options in the PTE screen and it drastically increased my Spelling score to 90.

Reading
1. Practice a lot of Reading question types and check all the new words for meaning. Remember that you have the chance to find the meaning of a new word only when you practice. So it is better to spend some time checking for meanings of words which you don’t recognize rather than coming it as a shock in the test day.

Listening
1. Summarize spoken text, study a template and fill it out with the phrases you hear.  As soon as you hear the audio, note down phrases in notepad and later align properly.
2. Practice a lot of all Listening questions from previous question types.

General
1.    Be familiar with all question types and practice with as many mock tests as you can as it makes you comfortable on the test day.

  3. In the summarized written text can I use semicolon to frame a complex compound sentence ? Or is it too much ?

    Example :

After water, the second most popular beverage is tea, which requires optimum climate conditions and geographical features to grow and have many health benefits; furthermore, tea is now a social drink to match the palates and consumption habits of humans in general.

  4. If you are confident about the sentence structure by using semicolons and colons, no issue in using that. But for me it was always confusing and I tried to avoid using in my sentences as I was afraid that I may mistakes. So instead I learnt few sentence structures using while, even though, although, that etc and try to make sentences using these in my essays.

However, we have to make sure there is a proper proportion of simple, compound and complex sentences and no overuse of discourse markers like therefore, furthermore, however etc. The essay shouldn't look artificial. Finally, practice typing essays without using the backspace keys. If you make a mistake, select and rewrite the word again.
